Flashing red light
Q. I have charged the Tough Light fully, why is there a steady flashing red light?
A. The indicator light has many functions. When the unit is turned "OFF" it will blink a slow and steady red Flash. This is the "locator" function to help you find the unit in pitch black darkness while camping or during a power outage. When the unit is turned "ON" the indicator light will let you know how much battery life you have left. A solid green light is 100% to 75%, a flashing green light is 75% to 40%, a solid red light is 40% to 10% and a flashing red light is 10% or less, time to recharge the unit. Please remember that the light must be turned "ON" in order to see how much battery life you have left. The flashing red locator light cannot be turned off, safety first.

The Charger
Q. Does the Tough Light come with a wall charger? (Only applicable to model 400-LR lanterns purchased before October 1st, 2020: TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE BATTERY, THE UNIT WILL NOT TURN ON WHILE CONNECTED TO THE CHARGER, All models after that can be charged while the light is "ON" )
A. No...If you have any Apple or Android products in your home, then a USB wall charger is all you need. Just use the Tough Light cable and plug it into the charger. The short cable design (provided in the packaging ) will make the Tough Light charge much faster and the extra long male end of the Tough Light cable ensures a snug fit.
The thought here is not to carry an extra charger around with the light, but rather that the chargers you already own can charge the light. Also, the short charging cables fits in the bottom of the battery compartment. This is an exclusive feature for the 400-LR Lanterns ONLY. There is no dry storage in the 1000-LR Lanterns.

Charging your Tough Light VS Charging your phone
Q. Can I use the Tough Light cable to charge my phone and can I use my phone cable to charge my Tough Light?
A. No...You should always use the dedicated cable that came with your phone to charge your phone. Also, you should only use the short cables (provided in the packaging) to charge your Tough Light. The short cable has a longer male end to reach into the recess of the light and make a secure fit. Always use the cable that is designed to fit your specific device.

Q. Can I bring the Tough Light on my flight?
A. Yes...The Tough Light's measurement of "Watt Hours" is far below TSA restrictions
